Underwater Tiger began making alternative rock music in the small upstate town of Horseheads, NY when brothers Matt Furstoss (drums, vocals), Anthony Furstoss (guitar), and Ron Furstoss (bass) combined talents with brothers Nate Miner (guitar, vocals), and Andy Miner (guitar) in 2010. The families knew each other in high school, and left their respective bands to create Underwater Tiger after college, drawing upon a variety of alternative and rock influences. Their songs are marked by poetic lyrics, emotionally driven impacts, and catchy intertwining vocal melodies backed by powerful and sometimes dreamlike instrumentals. The band quickly gained local notoriety, raising thousands of dollars via an Indiegogo campaign to shoot a music video in promotion of their first single "Bones". In 2012, the band independently released their debut album Where Miles Become Meaning and supported it with a barrage of short tours in the Northeast. In 2013 the band refreshed their writing process, forming the building blocks of their upcoming Find the Right Words EP to be released on October 24, 2014.
